What fun to be in France again! We are staying near Evian, the beautiful town know for its fine natural spring water. For six years, we enjoyed living here on the banks of Lake Geneva, with the Alps practically out our back door.
We are staying in a darling little apartment at the B&B owned by British friends. It is in the village of Bernex, nestled right in a little mountain valley, complete with lots of chalets. (Photo1)
We have enjoyed visiting with friends (such as my former English Conversation class ,photo 2) and taking part in a Pilates class with members of our international club (#3). I loved getting together with my friends, fellow Americans Sue and daughter Sofia, who will be moving back with Dad to the U.S. this summer, after 10 successful years in nearby Lausanne, Switzerland. (Final photo below, since I didn't insert it in the correct position, and can't move it.)
On Saturday, our main destinations were Yvoire, an beautiful old walled village, where we sucked down perfect crepes (#5), and a fun local parade in a nearby town (# 6 and 7).
I have gotten some long walks in, to stay fit, but they don't even begin to balance all the wonderful treats I have eaten here (mostly pastries). Oh well! C'est la vie! As everyone keeps saying , I'll walk it off later!
